South lamar got me for my oil pan this morning . I hit a man hole and soon saw smoke from under my car immediately turned the car off and coasted into the H20 parking lot on South Lamar and Barton Springs. Oil draining everywhere .

Called South 1st Performance and they are towing the car over to the shop now and hope to weld the pan back up with it on the car . In other news time to get a oil pan with some decent clearance . I know the CTS-V oil pan I'm using right now will work but obviously is pretty low to the ground. I think my only option may be a Corvette C5 oil pan .. any other ideas ?

Any help from Austin Oppos would be greatly appreciated.

That's annoying. Wish I knew more about LS oil pans. In the offroad world the fix would be to just lift it more!

Well that sucks :S

One option would be to cut and reweld the pan so it's an inch shallower. Should be easy enough to do, especially if they do end up having to take the pan off to weld the existing hole.

Austin annoys me like that sometimes. Nice city, but I get nervous driving around on some of the roads that are suddenly bumpy as hell when they shouldn't be.
